Jennifer Schwartz, M.S., CCC-SLP is a New York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. She is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). In addition, she holds her certificate as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) and has been approved by the New York State Department of Health as an Early Intervention Provider.

Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned a Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences at Hunter College. She began her career at an Early Intervention center-based program, providing assessment and treatment to children 18 months – 3 years of age. From there, she continued her career at LearningSpring School in Manhattan, a non-public K-8 school, providing speech and language services for children on the Autism Spectrum. Following LearningSpring, Jennifer began to provide private, home-based services to children of all ages in the Manhattan area.

Jennifer has extensive experience with the pediatric population, ranging from children 12 months to 18 years of age. Her areas of expertise include receptive and expressive language disorders, pragmatic and social language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, early literacy and phonemic awareness, and play. She has provided services to children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Apraxia of Speech, Auditory Processing Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental delays.

Jennifer has advanced training in the areas of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), play development and early literacy. She has experience with a variety of programs used to develop a range of speech and language areas, including The Social Thinking Curriculum, Wilson Language: Fundations, The Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol, and TalkTools® hierarchy.

Jennifer individualizes her sessions to suit the needs and interests of every child. She targets speech and language goals using a play-based approach, as she believes that therapy should be a positive and playful experience. Jennifer values working collaboratively with families and other professionals in order to help children reach their highest potential.
